Join us on Saturday, August 9 to kick off Black August with a teach-in led by Donnie Moreland, co-founder of the Fellowship of the Griots. This foundational session unpacks the origins and importance of Black August, followed by a guided creative writing exercise grounded in the theories, thoughts, and thinkers of the Black liberation movement.

Refreshments will be provided. Please bring your preferred writing tools; additional supplies will be available.
