Join us for the opening of Lost Artisans, a solo exhibition by RAHMI, presented by The Residency at FLORA.
Marking the culmination of his month-long artist residency, Lost Artisans invites visitors into THE BODY AS AN ARCHIVE OF REMEMBRANCE, an exhibition exploring memory, identity, and the stories carried within us. Through his multidisciplinary practice, RAHMI examines the body as both a vessel and a living archive, weaving together themes of ancestry, migration, resilience, and cultural preservation.
Celebrate the opening with an evening of art, music, and community from 6:00–9:00 PM at The Residency at FLORA Gallery. Enjoy drinks from the bar while DJ Stevie (@stvybles) sets the soundtrack for the evening.
The exhibition will remain on view August 7 through September 4, with gallery hours to be announced.
The evening also coincides with the RiNo Art District's August First Friday Festival, just across the street at RiNo ArtPark. Before or after visiting the exhibition, explore one of Denver's favorite monthly art events featuring galleries, local artists, makers, live music, food vendors, and community celebrations throughout the neighborhood. While you're there, don't miss a performance by fellow Residency artists, The Mañanas, as part of the festival programming.
We look forward to celebrating RAHMI's work and an unforgettable evening of art in RiNo.
About RAHMI:
I grew up surrounded by movement — movement of people, cultures, languages, and histories. As someone shaped by migration and multiple identities, I developed an early sensitivity to the stories that get overlooked or left behind. Art became the place where I could rebuild what was lost. My practice sits at the intersection of memory and identity. I work with layered paint, mixed media, text, and symbolic imagery to question what happens when a story crosses borders — how it transforms, what it sheds, and what it carries. Themes of displacement, ancestral memory, and invisibility run through my work. Whether I'm painting pigeons as metaphors for immigrant bodies or reconstructing the forgotten artisans of Eastern Congo, I am always searching for the thread that connects us across time and place. This is not just art — it is an act of remembering.
About The Residency at FLORA:
Developed to support exceptional creatives across disciplines, The Residency at FLORA fosters meaningful connections between artists and Denver's community through immersive cultural experiences.
