Join us for a super special Shut Up and Write in Los Feliz! This will be our opening party with a welcome from LA Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace & other surprises. _________________ Since October, we’ve been hosting weekly writing accountability groups in Los Feliz. We check-in, put a timer on for one hour, and then silently write for! It’s beautiful! One hour of time after your day job to focus on whatever you want to work on, no judgement. If you want to read, respond to texts, or do life admin - do it. It’s your time to do what you need to do. We’re making this our opening party! There will be opening remarks from the Festival organizer Sammy Ginsberg and our very own LA Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace. After we write, an optional collaborative writing game to get to know each other as we embark on our five-day festival experience. The beauty of festivals is they create a micro-culture for a few precious days. Our hope is to continue this inclusive culture throughout the year at our weekly writing groups and events in the neighborhood! If you are interested in attending one of our writing groups, you're more than welcome to! Mondays 6:45pm to 8:15pm at Sidewalk Grill Wednesdays 6:45pm to 8:15pm at Big Bar Alcove This party will be at Sidewalk Grill! Please support the local business hosting us by purchasing something as that's why our event is FREE <3 WHAT TO BRING Bring your computer (there is free wifi!), your phone, or a journal to write with! We are going to write at this festival! ADA & Accessibility Wheelchair accessible. No stairs. Chairs are provided, and people are not expected to stand. Outdoor seating area also provided. One bathroom is gender-neutral. Amplified sound will be provided for this event. Room is air-conditioned; wear layers if temperature sensitive. Use scent-free materials and be aware of fragrance sensitivity. LOGISTICS Public Transportation & Parking: There is a free parking lot for the business, as well as street parking. Meters are free after X. Can also park on the streets behind (New Hampshire and Berendo). Valet and paid parking lots are also available. _______ Check out the full schedule of events!
