Our featured guest, Joe Carlsmith, will be giving a talk titled "Can Goodness Compete?", on long-term equilibrium outcomes post-AGI.
Joe Carlsmith is a writer, researcher, and philosopher, specializing in existential risk from advanced AI. His work includes: "Otherness and control in the age of AGI," "Is power-seeking AI an existential risk?", and "Scheming AIs: Will AIs fake alignment during training in order to get power?". He's a senior advisor at Open Philanthropy, and he has a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Oxford.
