As the days stretch late, The Benevolent Dictator is nostalgic for childhood and what summer represented. A seemingly disappearing time and place where the buzz of crickets and the shouts of neighborhood kids overwhelmed any traffic or industry. A time when my bike would lean safely against the house at night, muddied and scratched and ready for a new day of building jumps. I even remember when my bedtime came before the sun was fully set and every cell in my body ached to go out and play with the older kids I could hear from my room. While I don’t miss that feeling, I do miss that existential glee that accompanied the march toward summer camp and a family vacation near the ocean, mastering the art of burger making, and playing Scrabble. The next TBD brings me back and welcomes you to “Summer Vacation,” a farm-stand inspired orgy of color and freshness meant to delight and act as a time machine that whisks us back to the late *80s and early 90s New England. *which means gluten + dairy are in full swing for this one. As always with TBD, you eat what we kindly (that’s the benevolent part) tell you to (that’s the dictator part). Saturday, June 6th @ 6:30 - 9pm Sunday, June 7th @ 6:30 - 9pm There will be Lazarus G&T's served cold, plentiful, and the correct way. BYO chilled wines to add to the festivity. We'll be seating 10-12 people each night. When you RSVP, let us know which night you're joining and Venmo @davidalazarus [don't forget the "a" in the middle!] to confirm your place at the table.
