Clay Dates: A Queer Creative Speed-Dating Experience Clay Dates is a soft-launch experience and the beginning of a new recurring series by Queer Clay With Me. This event is designed for queer singles who are curious about connection but want something gentler, more intentional, and less overwhelming than traditional speed dating. Instead of sitting across from someone with nothing but small talk, guests will create with clay while conversations unfold naturally, intuitively, and at their own pace. The night will flow through a series of short, timed clay dates (approximately 10–12 minutes each), allowing you to meet multiple people throughout the evening. You’re welcome to work on one continuous clay piece across rounds, start something new each time, or simply fidget and play with the clay while chatting. There is no formal instruction and no pressure to “finish” anything, this experience is centered around ease, presence, and organic connection. The final portion of the night will open into a relaxed mingle where guests can continue conversations, exchange contact information, or head out when they feel ready. The Space This experience will take place at Lovejoys NYC, a beautiful, lightly dimmed, intimate space that’s perfect for a date-night atmosphere. Lovejoys offers a warm, cozy ambiance that encourages conversation and connection, along with delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available for purchase throughout the evening. Guests are welcome) to support the venue by enjoying their thoughtfully crafted drinks while participating in the experience. Light snacks will be provided Who This Event Is For This event is open to queer singles of all identities including (but not limited to) lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, nonbinary, trans, gender-expansive, and queer-identified folks. If you are an open queer person interested in dating other queer individuals, this event is for you. You may come hoping to meet a romantic interest, a Valentine, or simply someone new to connect with. We are intentionally creating a space that is welcoming to neurodivergent individuals, including those on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, and anyone who finds traditional dating environments awkward or overstimulating. Having something creative and tactile to engage with can help regulate nerves, soften conversation, and allow the vibe to flow naturally. Please note: this is a general queer dating experience. In the near future, we will be hosting more tailored editions (such as WLW, T4T, and Poly-specific events).
