Blue Room Studios’ “How to Make a Short Film Under $1000” is a five-part educational workshop designed to help aspiring filmmakers transform creative ideas into successful productions without requiring a large budget. Part Two, taking place on August 20 from 6:00–10:00 PM at CreateATL (900 Murphy Ave.), focuses on creating compelling documentaries using limited resources and affordable production techniques. Participants will explore practical strategies for planning, storytelling, interviewing, budgeting, and maximizing accessible equipment to produce impactful nonfiction films. The session emphasizes creativity, resourcefulness, and efficient pre-production methods that empower independent filmmakers to begin producing work immediately. Through hands-on instruction, real-world examples, and collaborative discussion, attendees will gain valuable insight into building documentaries that are both visually engaging and financially achievable. RSVP is required to attend. Whether you’re a beginner or an emerging filmmaker looking to strengthen your documentary skills, this workshop provides practical knowledge, networking opportunities, and the confidence to create meaningful films on a modest budget.
