Hi Friends!
With everything going on in our communities, both here in RVA and beyond, we wanted to create a space for you to get off your phone and take meaningful action.
Join us in writing letters to our politicians while enjoying a beer, a snack and good company. While this week brought some celebration in the ICE budgets failure to pass and the pushback on the local detention center, we need to keep our foot on the pedal.
We will have tables reserved at BenchTop, templates for letters based on various topics, and addresses for VA politicians. We are asking for a suggested donation of $5 for stamps and that you BYO Stationary (though we will have some extra paper and envelopes available). Any leftover funds will be donated to the Richmond Community Legal Fund.
Our plan is to write letters from 5:30-7pm and we hope you will consider staying after you get your thoughts out to support one of our favorite local brewers + free BINGO starts at 7!
We’re angry about ICE in Virginia. We’re angry about how our unhoused neighbors are being treated during this ice storm. Whatever you want to write about we support! Express your anger to our elected officials while supporting the USPS!
