For years, pop culture has trained us to fear artificial intelligence. Now, concerns about job displacement, environmental impact, misinformation, and the speed of development have made that skepticism even more real. But how much of AI’s reputation is actually about the technology, and how much is about the people representing it? Like it or not, Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Dario Amodei have become some of the most recognizable ambassadors of AI. Their personalities, rivalries, predictions, and very public disagreements increasingly shape how people feel about the technology itself. During LA Tech Week, Gerber Kawasaki is bringing together leaders from some of the biggest names in AI and tech to unpack why AI has such a PR problem, what everyone gets wrong about it, and where the industry is actually headed.
