CLT Hikes and Young Social Paddlers are teaming up for a full-day adventure in beautiful Blowing Rock, NC! We’ll start the morning with a hike at Rough Ridge Trail with our friends from CLT Hikes, then unwind with an afternoon paddle at Price Lake.
⚠️Parking is very limited at Rough Ridge ⚠️ it tends to fill up quickly, especially on weekends. To help make things smoother for everyone, we strongly encourage carpooling with friends or fellow group members if possible.
What to Expect:
We’ll meet at 10:00 AM at the Rough Ridge Overlook parking lot — please be on time so we can begin the hike by 10:15 AM. The trail is an estimated 1.2-mile out-and-back and is considered moderately challenging.
After the hike, we’ll head to Price Lake Boat Rentals to launch our paddle. You’re encouraged to bring your own kayak, paddleboard, or canoe — you can launch your own gear for free directly from the rental site. Don’t have gear? No problem! What to Bring:
- Hiking gear
- Your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard (if you have it!)
- Paddle and life jacket
- ⚠️ Water shoes (for safety on the lake)
- Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
- Towel and warm clothing (in case you swim!)
- Beverages and snacks - don't forget water!
Important Notes:
- Please note that this event is weather permitting. In case of adverse weather conditions, the event may be rescheduled or canceled for safety reasons.
- Safety is our priority. All participants must follow hiking and water safety guidelines and adhere to responsible outdoor behavior.
- This is a self-guided hike and paddle; participants are responsible for their equipment and safety.
- Please arrive on time to ensure we make the most of our adventure.
