“MANiFEST: The Awakening” is not just a show, but a declaration. I believe the life that you dream of is already yours if you are bold enough to claim it, believe, and walk in it.
MANiFEST begins where it all started for me: the church. A gospel number will set the atmosphere honoring my roots in Muskegon, Michigan at my home church. A place filled with spirit, beautiful voices, with my sisters and brothers in Christ, who were like family. This shaped and introduced my love for music, but came with the cost of living up to other’s expectations which I struggled to meet later in life.
As I matured, the “golden child” shoe didn’t fit so comfortably anymore. Learning myself daily, I discovered my hidden truth in 5th grade. For over 15 years I hid my identity. Burying my shame in prayer and my fears behind every choir, praise & worship song I sang.
In August of 2019 at age 23, I challenged my own faith. With no relatives nearby, I moved to NYC with one suitcase, $2,000 saved from my summer job in Michigan, an interview for a flyering company in Times Square, and an Ulta Beauty Credit Card.
The Concrete Jungle quickly taught me something very powerful: God will send strangers to love you in ways you never expected. This was a reminder that even when I felt alone, I could still be chosen, worthy, and seen. This was the beginning of my Awakening.
MANiFEST is a result of my journey so far; releasing shame, embracing my truth, and stepping into the life that was meant for me all along.

I am blessed to have the support of an all-queer live band. Together, we are creating more than a performance, but a moment for all of us to let go, and MANiFEST.
I am grateful for the connections that once served their purpose, the chosen family I have now, and even more grateful for the future connections I have yet to make!
