a16z AI Infra x AGI House:
Why Language Models Hallucinate
📍 AGI House • 🗓 Tech Week (Apply to attend. Space is limited.)
We’re thrilled to host Ofir Nachum and Edwin Zhang (co-authors of the paper and researchers at OpenAI) in person for this special reading group.
🔬 Spotlight Paper
Why Language Models Hallucinate: https://openai.com/index/why-language-models-hallucinate/
Language models are powerful, but their tendency to hallucinate remains one of the central challenges in making them reliable. OpenAI’s recent paper Why "Language Models Hallucinate" provides a fresh theoretical and empirical lens on why this problem persists and how we might address it. We will have a chance to deep dive into this paper together.
👥 Who this is for
This session is designed for founders and researchers deeply engaged in building in or studying AI systems.
This will be a paper-style reading club session: short framing intro followed by collective discussion. Bring questions, skepticism, and ideas on where this approach could take us next.
Hosted by a16z AI Infra x AGI House. Sponsored by Tech Week. See you there to explore the frontier of reliable reasoning! ⚡
This event is a part of #SFTechWeek, a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com
