ALL DETAILS ARE UNCOMFIRMED & ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. PLEASE READ BELOW. We're hosting a clothing swap in Long Island! I'm trying to bring more thirdish spaces to Nassau where we can just hang out, connect, and look out for one another when needed. Instead of a high fashion exchange, this is a general closet cleanout in partnership with The Bethany House. At the moment we’re looking for a venue that fully aligns with our initiative. Once we do we will send everyone updates on the official start day of our swap so stay connected via socials. Clothing at this event is 100% free! Thank you! :) EVENT DETAILS: - When: September 5, 2025 - Time: 12-2 PM - Where: TBD (Nassau County, Long Island) HOW IT WORKS: - Bring your bags of clothes, shoes, or accessories you no longer wear from 11:00-11:30 AM (drop off time). We’ll lay everything out and look over the items to ensure they meet the shelter's ready to wear guidelines. - Swapping will begin at 12:00-2 PM! Bring a reusable tote bag with you to take your new clothes home! We'll have extras but supply is limited. - Everything left over is being packed up and driven directly to local emergency housing networks, Bethany House. They distribute clothes straight to local individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Because these items go directly onto the backs of people in crisis, we must follow strict rules. They don't have to be folded or in a box.) ___________________________________ CLOTHING GUIDELINES: PLEASE ONLY DONATE READY TO WEAR ITEMS ONLY - Items must be completely clean and free of stains, tears, missing buttons, or broken zippers. Shelters do not have laundry facilities or staff to fix or wash damaged clothing. Please only bring items that are gently used or new. If it is too overworn, stained, or stretched for you to hand to a close friend, please do not bring it to the swap. ___________________________________ WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: - A reusable tote bag with you to take your new clothes home!
