Please join us to celebrate the launch of After Hours: Clubbing on Film. After Hours is an expansion of the film programme of the same name, originally presented at Batalha Centro de Cinema, Porto. The book features newly commissioned essays on the intersections of nightlife and cinema, interviews with participating filmmakers, and archival photography and imagery from Porto's rich nightlife history.
For our launch, we’ll have readings and a panel discussion with two of the co-editors, Ana David, and Thorlu-Bangura, alongside essayists Onyeka Igwe and Philippa Snow.
We’ll also screen Playback. Ensayo de una despedida, Agustina Comedi’s award-winning short about an underground queer scene in 1980s Argentina.
To close the night Amar Ediriwira, host of the Blue Screen radio show on NTS, will grace the decks.
Free entry, hope to see you all there!
