To close out AANHPI month, we have brought together the forces of Ina (@gandagardensnyc) and Therese (@toscah.bakery) for a Spring Saturday morning workshop! Ina, founder of Ganda Gardens (@gandagardensnyc) , is a florist focused on sustainable sculptural design, honing in her Filipino and Chinese background to inform her practice of floral design as a vehicle for story telling. Therese Ton is a Boston-based multimedia artist and home baker whose work lives at the intersection of food, science, and art. She founded Toscah Bakery nine years ago from her college dorm kitchen and has been creating cakes wherever life takes her ever since. Guided by a passion for molecular precision and visual storytelling, Therese works as a scientific visual communicator in the biotech industry. Inspired by nature, her layered cakes are adorned with florals and intricate designs that reflect both culinary craftsmanship and creative experimentation. This summer, she will move to Paris to attend Ferrandi pastry school. Participants will go home with their arrangement in a vase as well as the floral shears they used.
