Resonance of the Unseen: A Cello Concert by Rufus
Join us for an evening of solo cello Bajo Quinto and Tarhu by Rufus Cappadocia, as well as a talk discussing what modal music is. Mini massage station will be hosted by Suzanne Hyde.
Rufus will share the history of and his relationship to devotional music forms from Vodou to the Maqam of the Middle East. As an instrument designer, Rufus will also talk about the evolution of form in his instruments, how they were created and the history of the different families of instruments he plays.
Suggested donation is $20 which will go directly to Rufus, but feel free to donate whatever feels good for you. No one will be turned away due to funds. Some snacks will be provided, but please bring additional food and beverages!
