Coming to NYC for Climate Week? Want to learn more about how elected officials and activists are battling data centers in their communities? Join us on Thursday, September 24th after a panel discussion with exciting speakers for a happy hour at Honey's in Brooklyn. Across the country, corporations are proposing hundreds of new data centers to power the AI boom. While the profits go to some of the world’s largest companies, the costs often stay local. Massive water consumption. Increased pollution when utilities turn to fossil fuels to meet growing energy needs. And in many places, rising utility bills for families who never asked for any of it. But communities are fighting back. And in places like Seattle, Arizona, and New York, climate champions are passing legislation to halt construction of new data centers and hold these corporations accountable for their emissions. So join us to learn more, have some drinks, and spend time with others in this fight! Hear from grassroots leaders, candidates and elected officials who are leading the fight against data centers.
