Sunset Shop, Echo Park — 1282 Sunset Blvd.
This event is a community-powered 5k and popup market in honor of Filipino history, education, and the spirit of “Bayanihan,” which is collective care in motion. The 5k route starts on Sunset Blvd, goes through historic Filipino town, and Echo Park lake.
We’re raising funds for the Helena Eugenio Westrate Foundation, which distributes school supplies and learning resources to students across 25 barangays in Santa Ignacia, Philippines. We do this in honor of Helena, a beloved lola, mother, nurse, runner, baker, and proud Filipina.

To move with purpose. To honor those who came before us and give to the young ones rising up behind us. To celebrate Filipino American History Month and show community love all the way from LA to Luzon.
