Do you love to laugh? Do you love rescue animals? Of course you do! So come on out to SAVE THE CAT!, a night of free comedy and live music benefitting New Hope Animal Rescue! We’ll also be raffling off a pair of Weezer tickets (valued at $200) for their performance at the Moody Center on October 18. Those who make a donation to the rescue will also receive a custom event sticker! 100% of all profits will go directly to New Hope Animal Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to save critically injured or neglected animals in the Austin area. Join us September 9 at 29th Street Ballroom from 7-9 PM for a free show featuring four of Austin’s fastest rising comics and a live performance by local musician VosCuervo. IG: https://www.instagram.com/savethecatshow 🐈FORMAT🐈 The night will start off with standup sets from Austen Silver, Amy Shanker, Holly Hart, and Sean Saldana, four comedians who have all performed for large audiences in the Austin area (Moontower Comedy Festival, ATXplained, Austin’s Funniest Person Contest). To close out the evening, VosCuervo will perform a live set and then we’ll raffle off a pair of Weezer tickets. $1 = 1 ticket in the raffle Volunteers from the animal shelter will be in attendance with adoptable animals and info about New Hope Animal Rescue. 🪩YOUR COMIC RELIEF 🪩 Amy Shanker is known for her fearlessness. She spent a decade as a high school English teacher and her recent special Miss Teacher Lady was released on Apple TV and Amazon. Austen Silver is an observational storyteller and finalist for The Funniest Person In Austin Contest. His debut special It Shouldn’t Be this Easy was released in 2026. Holly Hart has performed at the Moontower Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and is the Artistic Director of Fallout Theater. Sean Saldana is an NPR journalist who has performed at the Paramount Theatre and Bass Concert Hall. He is also the executive producer of the late night show Friendly Fire with Jo Ellis. 🎶THE MUSICAL ARTIST 🎶 VosCuervo is an Austin-based singer and songwriter who blends genres with booming vocals. His debut single Carrie was released in 2026 and is available on streaming platforms. 🐶 A NEW HOPE FOR CATS AND DOGS🐱 New Hope Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue based in Austin, Texas. NHAR fights shelter overcrowding and prevent euthanasia, focusing on saving dogs and cats at high risk in shelters. Every rescued animal receives full veterinary care prior to adoption, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm/FeLV testing, and necessary specialized medical treatments. 🎤A ROOM NOTE 🎤 Expect some adult language but zero tolerance for hate speech or bigotry.
