On Saturday October 18th, we'll be trekking through Palisades Park by way of the George Washington Bridge, taking in the changing leaves, rocky cliffs, sunset over Manhattan, and Hudson River views from vantage points in both New York and New Jersey!
FYI this is a 12 hour stroll spanning 20+ miles, and you are free to join us at *any* point along the way π
All RSVP'd "yes" and "maybe" attendees will receive a link at 10am to my realtime location for the entire hike, along with my phone number, so you can see exactly where we are on google maps and text me when you plan to join so we can keep an eye out for ya π€

πΏ About Hyggehiking πΏ
Hygge means "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being."
"Hyggehiking" is my own special blend, where we engage in that conviviality while trekking through green spaces throughout our city.
I host Hygge gatherings so we can come together to make new friends, discuss fun projects we're eager to work on, dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, and meet people who can help make NYC feel like a smaller, closer-knit community. We bring our friends, family, coworkers, anyone we think would enjoy spending the day alongside a variety of curious souls.

10:30am-12:30pm β George Washington Bridge, Hazard Beach, Ross Dock Picnic Area, Englewood Picnic Area, Undercliff Beach
π After crossing the bridge and entering the Palisades, we'll hug the coast and head north, briefly stopping at some picnic areas for photos, restrooms, and eagle spotting.

π I've never been to Tenafly before but it has several trails and animal observation spots, as well as ponds and waterfalls!
3pm-4pm β Allison Park, Hudson Park
π Having taken the shore road north, we'll take the cliff trails south, stopping at a few parks along the way for sweeping views of the Hudson.
4pm-6pm β Fort Lee Historic Park, George Washington Bridge Viewing Platform
π We'll catch golden hour over Manhattan from a beautiful vantage point in Fort Lee, and hopefully cross the bridge again right as the sun sets.

π Dinner at a funky and colorful taqueria, followed by dessert at a local creamery.
7:30pm-8:30pm β Riverbank State Park
π We'll stretch, digest, and people watch at Riverbank State Park, a local hub for sports and social gatherings.
8:30pm-10pm β Riverside Park, General Grant National Memorial, Upper West Side wander
π Raccoons abound throughout Riverside Park after dark, so we may glimpse several as we stroll south. After passing by Grant's Tomb, we'll begin weaving our way through the Upper West Side, which becomes hauntingly empty and beautiful at night.
