Anthology has no assigned seating, so we will meet in the lobby 6:30pm and head in together. (If you get there later, then no worries, we'll just meet after the movie.)
SYNOPSIS: An opulent dark-fantasy retelling of the legend of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table. Starring Nigel Terry as King Arthur, Helen Mirren as Morgana le Fay, Nicol Williamson as Merlin, and Cherie Lunghi as Guinevere, with appearances by Liam Neeson (in his breakout role), Patrick Stewart, Ciarán Hinds, and Gabriel Byrne.
John Boorman's 1981 blockbuster has a reputation as one of the most visually-beautiful films ever made, and I've been meaning to watch it for years, but never got around to it. Luckily (and somewhat surprisingly) it is playing at Anthology this coming Friday. Let's watch it!
NOTE: I've heard this film can be a bit hard to follow if you aren't at least somewhat familiar with the basics of the Arthurian legend, so I recommend reading its plot summary if you get the chance.
