˜◡˜Membrane Tensions is artist Maru Garcia's collection of works made from SCOBY (bacterial cellulose). It evokes the beginning of life when the distinction between internal and external was crucial for the emergence of living forms. From this project, Garcia is presenting a series of small lamps made from homegrown bacterial cellulose.
Come meet the artist this Saturday from 10-1pm, have some kombucha and shop the lamp collection at Plot 田. There will also be a selection of books and other artist goods available for purchase.
