Hello dear ones -
Welcome to our weekly Shevet sit with a special Hanukkah glow, and an Or HaLev teaching too!
Shevet Brooklyn is a weekly Jewish meditation, held lovingly in living rooms and led by different members of the community each Wednesday. Throughout the year, Shevet is supported by IJS and OpenLev, and once a month, joined by Or HaLev for an evening that includes extended teaching and light meditation guidance.
Join us on the Wednesday of Hanukkah to practice holding light and dark in this tender season, and to light candles together (bring a hanukkiah if you have one!). Feel free to bring your favorite Hanukkah treats or refreshments :)
Our evening will look something like this:
- 6:30pm — Folks arrive, hang out, munch on some good Hanukkah treats
- 7:00pm — Welcome & Opening
- 7:10pm — Teaching on Jewish meditation + 25-minute sit
- 7:50pm — Reflections, discussion, + Q&A
- 8:20pm — Candle-lighting + hang time until 9:30pm
A bit about this event — a collaboration of many good things:
