March 6: Inaugural Media Mixer

If not, we’ll host another! *NOTE - folks working in PR/comms will not be accepted* The last few months have been brutal for the journalism industry. More than ever, we need opportunities for reporters, editors, photographers, and other media workers to gather for an evening of networking and getting to know peers in the industry. Enter the inaugural Media Mixer. Many of us are heading back to the office in some capacity. But for early career journalists especially, this is a space to meet folks at different publications to discuss newsroom challenges, explore career opportunities, and find camaraderie with other media workers in New York. DETAILS - 🗓️ March 6, 2024 📍 Midtown (exact location shared on RSVP) ⏰ 6-8 p.m. 📝 On background 💰 Cash bar, 21+ only please!! 🤠 Hosted by Samantha Stokes, senior tech reporter at Business Insider. 🤝 Pay it forward: invite a friend from a different outlet. Seek out an early-career journalist to chat with. Share job opportunities. Offer intros with people already in your network. Be a friend, make a friend (or two!). 📨 Don't worry too much about missed connections! After this event, we'll send around a contact sheet of attendees, as well as a survey to help us plan future meetups. 🙅 We have a NO TOLERANCE policy for poor behavior including, but not limited to, racism, homophobia, misogyny, and unwanted sexual behavior. Anyone making other attendees feel incomfortable will asked to leave.
