Halloween is your favorite holiday’s favorite holiday.
It doesn’t obscure its problematic history like Thanksgiving, or exclude entire religions like Christmas, it doesn’t have a complicated backstory like Easter, and it reaches its promise much more often than New Year’s Eve.
It’s simple and it’s elegant. The ultimate excuse to pretend to be something you’re not and spend time with your community. We all need some of that once a year.
New York Needs is throwing a NYC themed Halloween party on November 1.
Come dressed as your favorite New York City character or as Jojo Siwa, either is fine. What’s more New York than having a bunch of unaligned characters in the same room, all celebrating the same thing?
The event will be sponsored by Lantern Beverages, Topo Chico, Mizu Sochu, Okinawa Gin, Peter Pan Donuts and others who we cannot officially announce yet.
$25 ticket at the door.
A ticket gets you an expanding list of free stuff from our sponsors.
Sounds
Jules, 22, Chizzum, dickbyair
It’s also Dia De La Muertos so that’s a fun wrinkle. See you there.
Also, follow along as we plan the event @newyorkneeds_
