We are kicking off the first public Coi Kat event. My production company JUX Foundation will host a series of these to raise funds and build an arts community.
All performers will be paid. Stage time is open to any ticket holder. We will be launching a pay-what-you-can ticket on our website soon. I just wanted to get the event on your radar now!
The Coi Kat Salon is an open mic / talent show. The audience will be able to sign up to go on stage to share a rant, a poem, a pie recipe, interpretative dance, a song, anything you desire. Each performer will be given three minutes. If time permits, you can even go up several times!
How it works:
Audience members decide how much of their ticket goes directly to the performers.
Performers score points depending on how the audience rates them (this is anonymous).
Performers get paid out depending on their score.
Most of your points will come from just going up on stage in the first place!
The goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where we can support local artists, and help our community realize that we are ALL artists in need of support.
