Join us at Avalon for a staged reading of a new adaptation of the classic Greek tragedy The Bacchae. Set in 1996 San Francisco, DOT-COM DIONYSUS sees techies and ravers battle for the soul of the Golden State. It's Willie Brown and Gavin Newsom vs the god of parties himself! This play is violent, subversive, tragic, and pretty funny (depending how you feel about Dianne Feinstein).
To be followed by a symposium, music, and party of BACCHANALIAN proportions. That means shit gets messy. Much wine will be served to please the god...
WEARING GREEK ATTIRE IS ENCOURAGED. If you don't have robes then wear all white!
$10 chip-in is encouraged! The more people pay the more swimming pools of wine we fill
Doors: 6 pm-7 pm
Play reading: 7-8:30 pm (with act breaks)
Bacchanalia: 8:30 pm-late
