Join us for an afternoon of hot tea, slow jams, and good conversation. Hosted by The Children of Diaspora (more info below). In the beautiful backyard of the Wave Collective, we'll gather as a small group to connect over good convos surrounding a Chinese tea ceremony, while vibing to a live R&B set in collaboration with: - DJ Himali (@himali333) for the music - Peiting (@peitingcalligraphy) for the calligraphy station There will be group sessions and breakout sessions where we'll casually talk as a group about topics including community, music, culture and more. To attend this event please RSVP here (hit “going”) and Venmo $25 to @andrew-pang (if you don't Venmo we won't be able to reserve a spot for you!) ------------------------------- Andrew Pang (a child of Chinese immigrants and Bay Area-native) and co-founder, Dennis “Conrad” Johnson (a child of Sierra-Leonian immigrants, and long-time resident of SF) have formed a collective called "The Children of Diaspora". Their mission is deeply rooted in bridging communities by celebrating, appreciating and creating a deeper understanding of others’ cultures, especially ones that aren’t highlighted in the mainstream. Together, as "The Children of Diaspora", they curate experiences that resonate with both the traditional and the modern.
