Come eat, drink, hookah and dance! A percentage of all profits at Dahlak will go to Philly Thrive— so you’re fundraising for environmental justice just by coming and having a drink or a snack. We’ll also have a raffle and merch ✨ DJs will start at 10pm and go till 1:30am 🪩 Philly Thrive is a multi-racial, cross-class, intergenerational organization rooted in the communities most impacted by the legacy of the South Philly oil refinery. We’re a basebuilding, membership organization that believes in the power of nonviolent direct action to achieve environmental justice. Thrive won back our Right to Breathe from 150 years of oil refining in South Philadelphia when we shut down the oil refinery in 2019. Now, we organize for Environmental Justice and Housing Justice in Grays Ferry. Currently, federal funding cuts are threatening Philly Thrive’s work. In 2024 Philly Thrive was selected for a major federal grant to create a Resilience Hub serving the neighborhoods most impacted by the legacy of the oil refinery that would integrate programs for home repair, job training, social services, and civic engagement. But the Trump administration has prevented Philly Thrive from receiving their funding, and now the organization’s life-giving programs and campaigns are vulnerable as the organization faces a major funding gap. We know it’s grassroots fundraising that’s going to keep this work going! We hope you can join us. All are welcome - bring your friends, family, lovers, frenemies, neighbors 💞
