A decade deep and still setting the dance floor on fire Scandalo NYC touches down at Dead Letter No. 9 for a proper Thursday night release. Born in Brooklyn in 2015 and created by DJ fernanDITO, Scandalo NYC has grown into a staple of New York City’s queer nightlife. Built on music, movement, and community, it’s a space where self-expression is the dress code and the dance floor is the meeting point. Expect Scandalo’s signature sound: a joyfully unhinged blend of Italo Disco, classic house, Euro pop, funky beats, and high-energy curveball the kind of selections that pull an eclectic crowd of music lovers, creatives, and free spirits into one sweaty, glowing room. Roni sets the tone a queer multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and producer with releases under RC REDD, bringing big international disco, funk, house, hi-energy boogie, and perfectly-timed oddities into tight, dancer-forward sets. A familiar face across NYC (Public Records, Bierwax, TV Eye, Port Sai’d, Rebecca’s, Hank’s + more), she knows exactly how to read a room and push it forward. Then FernanDITO takes over first stepping into the booth in Venezuela in the early 90s, and never looking back. A lifelong music researcher with decades of dancefloor instinct, his sets are a happy-tempo journey through ecstatic eclecticism: Italo disco, classic and current house, plus flashes of funky electro, pop, R&B, Europop and techno always moving, always building.
