The COLLEGE OF KNOWLEDGE is a FREE knowledge sharing initiative covering a wide range of subjects and ideas for the curious at heart.
NOTE: These classes are always free, but we do have a Supply Fund going for future classes if you'd like to make a donation via PayPal (linked above)
Instructor: Greg Loring-Albright, Phd, Assistant Professor of Game Design and Game Studies at Harrisburg University
Class Description: An apocalyptic meditation set in a flooding castle. A techno-thriller played through a fictionalized computer interface. A folk-music-inflected quest for vengeance. All of these are tiny videogames created using the browser-based Bitsy engine. In this course, you will learn how to use this simple piece of software to create games of exploration and interaction. You will export to an HTML file, meaning that your game can be easily transferred or hosted, and since Bitsy is free and browser-based, you can continue to work on your games or start your own new game design projects after the course.
Materials: All students will need a working laptop that is able to access a wifi network. Tablets with an external keyboard will also work.
