Materials & Applications (M&A) is a Los Angeles-based organization pursuing a public, participatory, and just culture of experimentation in architecture. M&A presents architectural installations in two public locations across the city, including in the M&A Storefront Project Space at 1313 Sunset Boulevard.
The current installation at the M&A Storefront, Trade Safe Chastity Box, is an interactive architectural device by Strat Coffman and Adam Barrett Miller that serves as a relational mediator for visitors and an event platform for programs. The Box invites visitors to play with various intimacies while on public display, remixing architectures of surveillance to reflect, refract, and otherwise produce new forms of connection.
