Breath is Life Community Breathwork: An evening of conversation prompts, essential oils, and soundbath. All levels welcome!
Breath is Life is an active breathwork practice that helps us listen inward and connect to the wisdom of our hearts. During our journey, we will use essential oils and conversation prompts to open access to deeper layers of our emotional and energetic bodies for self-connection and healing. Whether you’re new to breathwork or an experienced practitioner, this practice will meet you wherever you are in your process.
The style of pranayama breathwork we will be doing is not about forcing “results” or reaching a specific goal; rather, it is an opportunity to allow what is already inside to surface. We’ll use the life-giving power of the breath to move stuck energy, clear old patterns, and release what is no longer in service of our lives.
We will have opportunities to reflect (see prompts below) with ourselves and with each other before we begin our practice. After we have concluded our journey with a soundbath led by Ariel, we will have the chance to reflect on our experiences before closing the evening with free flow connection and ensuing farewells.
The theme for this evening is community. Prior to our session, please journal on these prompts:
How do you define community?
Who are those people to you?
What were your friends like growing up?
How have those friendships shaped how you make friends or community today?
What patterns would you like to continue or let go of?
What to Expect:
Paired partner work on the above conversation prompts
Essential oils created specifically for breathwork and earth elements to aid depth of exploration
A full breathwork session, about 35-45 minutes
Closing circle with optional sharing
What to Bring:
A yoga mat or blanket to lie on (important)
An eye mask or something to cover your eyes
A journal and pen
A water bottle
Comfortable, cozy layers
Meet Alex
At age 11, I first discovered the power of breath through playing the trombone. Over my twenty-three years of studying and playing professionally, I spent countless hours thinking and practicing the perfect inhalation and exhalation for a given musical moment.
While using my breath to create sound, I experienced a remarkable sense of inner peace - but I mistakenly thought it was from only playing the music. When I experienced breathwork, it was the first time I connected the dots that breath can open deeper doorways to self-connection and self-healing.
This realization led me to become a student of David Elliot, world-renowned author, teacher, and breathwork healer. I have since completed his comprehensive Healer Training program, and use breathwork to gain clarity and inner knowing in service of becoming my fullest expression of who I am stepping into. I am honored to share this beautiful practice with you in community!
Meet Ariel
With over three decades of immersion in music and sound, Ariel brings a depth of passion to her work. A singer since the age of three, she has come to understand music as her first love, and sound as one of the most direct pathways she knows to the human heart. She channels that lifelong relationship into sonic experiences that invite both deep listening and active participation, using sound healing instruments, mantras, and guided toning to support nervous system regulation, expression, and connection.
Ariel’s approach is grounded in both science and soul. She grew up chanting in temple, and that early devotion to voice and spirit never left her. Today she sings intuitively, treating her voice as a connection to her higher self–an orientation that shapes everything from the mantras she creates to the way she holds space.
Ariel holds an MA in Occupational Therapy from USC, and a Certificate in Psychedelic Therapies and Research from CIIS. Her training has given her a clinical lens on sensory integration and nervous system regulation, deepening her understanding of how sound moves through and transforms the body. In both private and group sessions, she brings together the science, the spirit, and her lifelong relationship to sound to offer a humble invitation: to slow down, come back to yourself, and listen.
