On Saturday February 15th, we'll be exploring the most memorable date spots I've managed to uncover in 15 years dating (and dating consulting) in NYC. Along the route, we'll have dozens of opportunities to take dating profile photos for anyone who wants them! We'll kick off the morning in Manhattan, then venture into Brooklyn by afternoon, and back to Manhattan by evening, where we'll continue the conversation (or optionally venture over to the Valentine's Day programming at Caveat, NYC's hub for intellectual nightlife). Here's my Google Maps list of the places we'll pass by: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Pjr4LStU1tztfG3J9 FYI this is an 8+ hour stroll, followed by plenty of hangout time, and you are free to join us at *any* point along the way 🙌 All RSVP'd "yes" and "maybe" attendees will receive a link at 10am to my realtime location for the entire hike, along with my phone number, so you can see exactly where we are on google maps and call me directly if you need help 🤗 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 🌿 About Hyggehiking 🌿 Hygge means "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." "Hyggehiking" is my own special blend, where we engage in that conviviality while trekking through green spaces throughout our city. I host Hygge gatherings so we can come together to make new friends, discuss fun projects we're eager to work on, dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, and meet people who can help make NYC feel like a smaller, closer-knit community. We bring our friends, family, coworkers, anyone we think would enjoy spending the day alongside a variety of curious souls. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 🗺️ ITINERARY 🗺️ 10am-11am — The Chai Spot ✨We'll kick things off at NYC's coziest venue for some morning chai, journaling, and conversation. 11am-12pm — Gai Kitchen, Silk Road Cafe ✨Early lunch to power our day at a hole in the wall spot famous for its chicken over rice, followed by coffee at a cute cafe with a board game hall on its 2nd floor. 12pm-1:30pm — Manhattan Bridge, Commodore Barry Park, Fort Greene Park ✨We'll catch some of the best views of lower Manhattan, then venture toward one of Brooklyn's most treasured parks, where thousands of people flock on warm spring days to bask in the sun and meet each other's friends, lovers, and pets. 1:30pm-2:30pm — The Center for Fiction, Dekalb Market Hall ✨We'll duck into the bookstore that all of my friends around Downtown Brooklyn swear by as their go-to hangout spot, then venture to an underground market lined with iconic eateries. 2:30pm-4:30pm — Metro Tech Walk, L'Appartement 4F, Columbus Park, Korean War Veterans Plaza, Cadman Plaza Park, Pebble Beach, Empire Fulton Ferry, Harbor View Lawn ✨I used to walk a cute doggo along this exact route. Then I started walking my dates along this route. I'm not sure who loved it more. It's a beautiful tree-lined stretch of parks, cute cafes, and breathtaking vistas, with infinite people watching possibilities. 4:30pm-6:30pm — Brooklyn Bridge, Pier 17 Rooftop, Essex Taqueria, Essex Pizza, Essex Market ✨Well traipse back to Manhattan to catch sunset by bridge and by rooftop, then make our way over to all things Essex for dinner, conversation, and sharing all the photos we took of one another throughout the day. I'll stick around for a few extra hours, and anyone who wants to can optionally indulge some of the bonus events and activities I've found below. 💗BONUS EVENTS💗 These aren't formally part the hyggehike, but feel free to get tickets and go if they seem interesting to you! They may sell out, so plan accordingly. 7:00pm-8:30pm — "So This Sucks" The Annual Anti-Valentine's Day Storytelling Show ✨Come listen to true tales of heartbreak and disappointment as a handful of very brave storytellers take to the stage to bare all- sharing their most humorous and horrifying breakup tales.
