Playlab × Stanford AI Tinkery × Replit Stanford Accelerator for Learning · Summer 2026 A fast-paced, half-day Build-a-Thon where Stanford students don't just use AI — they build it. In small teams, you'll move from AI user to AI creator: ideate, build, and pitch a real AI tool around a shared challenge. The goal is AI agency — understanding, evaluating, and shaping AI by creating your own. Who: All students, all skill levels. No experience required. Lunch on us. TOOLS • Playlab.ai — build a custom AI app, free and model-agnostic • Replit.com — vibe-code a front end and put it in front of real users Both free during the event. Accounts provided. CHALLENGE Designing AI tools for the future of work, learning, and finance — and building the agency to shape it. PICK A TRACK 1. Future of Finance — financial-literacy + decision-making tools (anchor: IFDM / ECON 43) 2. Future of Learning — reimagining the student + teaching experience 3. Future of Work & Early Careers — tools for navigating the shifting entry-level landscape 4. Open / Wildcard — propose your own (Health & Wellbeing, Civic/Community, etc.) DELIVERABLES 1. Problem statement 2. AI solution description (how Playlab + Replit work together) 3. Agency, equity & ethics check 4. Prototype or demo (Round 1) 5. 5-minute pitch (Round 2 finalists) HOW THE DAY RUNS 9:00 — Welcome + challenge kickoff 9:30 — Team up + build 12:00 — Lunch + keep building 1:00 — Round 1 demos → finalists 1:30 — Finalist pitches + judging 2:00 — Winners + wrap GRAND PRIZE Replit Pro — free for a full year for every member of the winning team.
