It’s summertime and it’s Friday: come out and shake a tail feather! If you’ve been itching to get on the dance floor, are wanting to learn Latin social dance, or just wanna come for the music and the vibes, this night is great for the whole family—and it’s FREE!! Located near historic Olvera St. in Los Angeles, the area is steeped in Latin culture. Whether you come with old friends or intend to make new ones, a feast for the eyes, belly, ears and spirit is guaranteed! And don’t forget to come say hi! I’ll post what I’ll be wearing day-of so you can find me on the dance floor! WHAT TO EXPECT: LOTS of people! The event gets PACKED, so be prepared! Much of the dance area outside of the dance floor is dirt. Please dress accordingly. THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT ONCE THE MUSIC STOPS. If you plan on really getting those dance moves in, get there on time! WHAT TO BRING: Your dancing shoes! Food/drink (optional. Will be sold at venue) Your get down with the get down spirit! LADIES: leave your purses in your car if possible. You will likely have to leave it unattended in the crowd if you decide to dance. PARKING: May be found at various lots nearby for flat-rate prices ranging between $7 and $20, depending. I’ve had luck at the LA Plaza Village parking—by the end of the event, the arm is up, and you can leave without paying!
