She graduated with a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase College in 2020. Being trained as a concert dancer, she has performed in dance works by various choreographers, including Martha Graham, Francesca Harper, Ana Maria Lucaciu, and Erin Landers. Since November 2020, she has been performing at Washington Square Park and is known as "Let Hair Down," a performer who combines live painting and improvisational dance. Her unique style of performance drew the attention of different media, such as Voice of America, New York Magazine, AM New York, and PIX11 News, among many others. As her work gains recognition in the New York art scene, she has been invited to perform at major art events such as Every Woman Biennial, Tribeca Art Show, and The Westhampton Beach Project. She also began collaborating with an acclaimed artist Mary Frank as her art model in March 2024. -- Mayu Shirai is a Japanese performer, dancer, and choreographer. After studying modern and urban dance in New York, she developed the concept of “IKIIKI Space” to explore human connection through movement. In 2024, she founded the IKIIKI THEATER COMPANY and now serves as its Artistic Director. She has worked across Japan, India, Cuba, the Philippines, the U.S., and Switzerland, often in participatory and interdisciplinary projects. She is currently pursuing a Master’s at Accademia Dimitri in Switzerland. -- Yuriyo began her artistic journey in response to personal loss-after the passing of her mother during her teenage years, she found herself unable to express her grief and anger through words. Entirely self-taught, Yuriyo works through intuition and instinct, drawing from the unconscious to give form to complex emotions. Her practice extends across painting, performance, and installation, and she has exhibited both in Japan and internationally.
