This July 3–5, the floating city of regen·era docks in Hopland, California for a three-day immersive campout and pARTicipatory village exploring what becomes possible when artists, designers, systems shapers, civic innovators, worldbuilders, regenerators and cultural producers come together in service of thriving futures for ALL of Life. Founded in 2020 and arriving in its fourth cycle, regen·era Rising has become a gathering place for creators of regenerative futures across disciplines, sectors and commUnities. Taking place during the 250th anniversary year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, regen·era Rising invites us to reimagine what interdependence, civic imagination and collective flourishing might look like in our time. For the past seven months, the artists, designers and cultural producers of the Design Science Studio have been developing visionary projects for regenerative futures. This gathering marks the culmination of that journey and an opportunity for the broader commUnity to experience, celebrate and participate in what is emerging. A pARTicipatory summit, regen·era Rising is a temporary prototype for regenerative culture: a living experiment where immersive art, performances, thought leadership, Afrofuturist and solarpunk storytelling, creative interventions, regenerative prototypes, shared regenerative meals, swimming, salons, workshops, worldbuilding, campfires, land rituals, unconferences, special musical guests, radical play and unexpected encounters converge in lived practice. Together with the Design Science Studio, the Buckminster Fuller Institute and habRitual, pARTners including Amplifier Art, Denizen, Climate Designers, Catalist, Vision Train, Declare Interdependence, MAPS, Burners Without Borders, Hylo, RegenIntel, OpenCivics and many others are helping weave this emergent village into being. To support the intimacy, trust and pARTicipatory nature of the gathering, attendance is curated through a short application process. Capacity is intentionally limited to cultivate a commUnity of pARTicipants excited to engage, contribute and help shape the village experience. Suspend disbelief. Step into the world of regen·era. The future is not something happening later. For July 3–5, we gather to embody it together! Family friendly! Hopland, CA is just 90 min north of the San Francisco Bay area right off the 101 North.
