After a number of working group meetings and unConference sessions, we have realized that there is a lot of interest in our community around exploring alternatives to the single family home+30 yr Mortgage model of housing and property ownership. Some topics we will be covering in this group include: *exploring co-living and ownership models *Visioning the community/eco-village we want *creating focus / working groups *traditional and alternative real estate financing *Property Case Studies Snacky potluck / light refreshments About your facilitators: Raines is an East Bay Cohousing / Cohousing California Regional Organizer, fostering the creation of green intentional neighborhoods (cohousing/ecovillages) throughout the Golden State and beyond. He has lived in two cohousing communities and visited nearly 150 across the country over the past three decades. Pete - has facilitated a number of Bay area cohousing interest groups over the last few years and is excited to explore this conversation from a permaculture perspective. ✨ What to expect: ★ Community announcements — needs, offers, events, and invitations ★ Project networking — connect with others doing permaculture work across the East Bay ★ Self-organized conversations — practical, political, visionary, grounded ★ Relationship-building — neighbors, organizers, gardeners, and changemakers All experience levels welcome.
