A woman's voice is not a crime.
In June, an Iranian court sentenced singer Parastoo Ahmadi and eight collaborators to 74 lashes and a two-year ban, for a concert. They sentenced one woman for singing. We answer with a stage full of them.
SEDA (صدا — "voice") is a new cultural series for Iranian women's voices. Night One:
🎤 SING with live music from Iranian women singers, across generations
🎙️ LAUGH with stand-up, Iranian women comics holding the mic and the room
🪩 DANCE with a Persian DJ takes it late. The whole room moves.
Not a party, not a crown, not a government, not a war. In every other sense; it's a party. The stage belongs to the artists.
Persian food by KUKU. Lineup announced to ticket holders first.
