A mambeo (mambeadero ceremony) is a gathering of people from the community, often during the evening, where everyone sits in a circle so they can see each other. During mambeos, elders share stories and wisdom, and conflicts are resolved. Mambe is a sacred medicine used by indigenous communities in Colombia. Mambe is the pure essence of Mother Earth, that when consumed as medicine, allows us the dialogue to take care of life, existence, and nature. Carrying the Divine Feminine energy. Mambe is traditionally consumed with ambil. While mambe sweetens the word, ambil sweetens the thought. Ambil (tobacco paste) is a plant ally that carries the Divine Masculine, and helps to heal the father's wound and align the divine masculine within. Its masculine essence is reflected in its power to help us "order" our minds. These two medicines go perfectly together, as they allow us to express ourselves with clarity and harmony, as well as better listen and understand whatever is being shared with us. This unique combination, rooted deep in the Amazon rainforest, offers an authentic experience that not only nourishes the body, but also honors the spiritual connection with nature. Abuelo Jaime Muriel is a Colombian Taita, spiritual guide and ancestral healer. He has been walking on the sacred journey for more than 20 years. He prepares his own sacred medicines in Putumayo, Amazonas. Honoring his origins, teachings and abuelos from the Ingas indigenous community where he was initiated by his Abuelos. The Inga indigenous community, which resides in the Alto Putumayo region in southwestern Colombia, uses the mambe in its ceremonial and ritual practices. For the Inga, mambe is a way to connect with their ancestors, receive spiritual guidance and strengthen their cultural identity. One of the most interesting aspects of Inga spiritual beliefs is their connection to nature. They believe that the natural world is alive and conscious, and that all beings are interconnected. Arrive 7pm. The ceremony starts at 7:15pm. We will gather in a big circle where Abuelo Jaime will share his teachings and the mambeadero medicine.
