Join us to celebrate City of Forest Day with Forest for All NYC and appreciate some of New York's hardest working residents—our trees! We'll kick off the day with a bird and tree ID walk in McCarren Park. Michael Lombardo from McGolrick Bird Club will guide us in spotting local birds, while Solveig and Carla, NBK Open Streeter and Demo Gardener who are also citizen tree pruners, will show us how to identify trees.
Saturday, October 26th
Meet up: 8:30am at McCarren Demo Garden
Walking tour: 8:30am - 9:30am
Q&A: 9:30am - 10am
After the tour, return to the garden for a Q&A with our guides to learn more about the role of urban flora and fauna.
City of Forest Day is an annual day of activities across the city to raise awareness of the importance of the New York City urban forest, and the essential role New Yorkers play every day in caring for the “lungs” of our city.
