Join us at the Berkeley Buddhist Temple for an afternoon of curiosity! Duality is an immersive experience including a quartet recital featuring the music of Erika Oba and Joe Hisaishi and a beginner taiko workshop led by Koh Yamakawa. All proceeds of this event will go directly to fund The Kakehashi Project! The Kakehashi Project is a new commission from Collective Counterpoint for taiko soloist Kohtaro Yamakawa and composer Erika Oba, written for taiko and string orchestra. Premiering in May 2026, the work bridges Japanese drumming traditions with the sound world of Western classical strings, creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange and artistic discovery.
