Join us on February 22 for an in-depth tour of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center (APAC)'s first-ever exhibit. This will be a tour with Dr. Erwin Tiongson, a professor at Georgetown University and a community historian, who served on the advisory committee for the exhibit. He is the author of the book Philippine-American Heritage in Washington, D.C. Presented by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, How Can You Forget Me: Filipino American Stories explores the overlooked history of a trailblazing Filipino community in California from the 1910s to the 1970s through twenty-six steamer trunks found in 2005, three of which are on display in the gallery. We will meet at the exhibit in 2 West | Nicholas F. and Eugenia Taubman Gallery at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History (1300 Constitution Ave NW).
