In this timely talk, "Sailing Toward Freedom: Taiwan's Crisis and Turning Point", Miao will unpack the challenges and opportunities on Taiwan’s horizon. She will offer a clear-eyed assessment of the converging threats facing Taiwanese democracy and examine the resilience that continues to define its people, offering a compelling vision for the path forward at this critical juncture. Drawing from a trailblazing career spanning grassroots activism, public office, and international advocacy, Miao brings a rich, nuanced perspective on Taiwan’s ever-evolving political realities. Her voice bridges the local and the global, the personal and the political.
