There is something powerful that happens when voices come together. The room softens. We stop worrying about how we sound. We listen, we respond, we sing... and somewhere along the way, we remember that our voices were never meant to exist in isolation. On September 15, Medicine Collective invites you into an intimate Soul Voice Singing Song Circle with Shylah Ray, an evening devoted to music, expression, connection, and the simple medicine of singing together. This isn’t a performance you come to quietly watch. You are part of the circle. Shylah will guide us through Soul Voice Singing practices before opening the space into shared song. We’ll sing together, improvise, listen, and make room for the songs that each of us carries. Bring an instrument. Bring a song you love. Bring something you’ve written. Or simply bring your voice. You do not have to consider yourself a singer to belong here. This is a space to move beyond perfection and experience what becomes possible when we allow ourselves to be heard, witnessed and supported by community. Mariah Makalapua of Medicine Collective will also be offering herbal remedies + ceremonial goods throughout the evening. And when the singing ends, those who want to stay can move from song into sauna, with an optional session from 8–9 PM for an additional $20 donation.
