In this dynamic, two-part panel discussion, philanthropic and nonprofit leaders from Los Angeles and San Francisco join together in at Bloomberg LA in Century City. Audience Q&As follow each session. The event will start with arrivals at 9:30 am with coffee and refreshments, programming beginning at 10:00 am, and time for networking after the programming until 11:30 am.
In part one, about the big picture of AI for social good, Mark Gurman, managing editor at Bloomberg News, will moderate a short session featuring Tara Roth, president of the Goldhirsh Foundation, and Kendall Arthur, strategic partnerships at Fast Forward.
Part two immediately follows, and is about AI in practice. Mark Gurman will again lead this session alongside Jen García, Goldhirsh Foundation AI executive-in-residence, Quan Huynh, executive director of Defy Ventures in Southern California and Mary Zhu, founder & executive director of Develop for Good.
Topics expected to arise during the event include: What real-world problems are nonprofits solving with AI right now? Where is AI really making a difference beyond the hype? How can the innovative greater tech community build AI tools for social impact? What does responsible, ethical, and community-centered AI adoption look like? How can we make LA/SF national beacons in AI for impact? What projects are currently in development in our most influential cultural sectors?
