Gaby Cavaliere and Ava Kutner are excited to present Bitch, our traveling gallery’s debut exhibition featuring the work of thirteen artists, including Kutner and Cavaliere (Libby Stew), at diverse stages in their careers: Annika Fricke, Fiona Frances, Greta, Henry Kramer, HZRD, Matt Diesing, Marle Adelman, Raymond Samame, Paul Root, Selah Payne, and Xavier Sylvia-Jackson.
While “bitch” is historically a negative word, our exhibition aims to add to its definition by showcasing various interpretations of the term, whether positive, negative, or metaphysical, using a variety of mediums including painting, photography, and sculpture. We invite artists to explore the essence of this phrase, breaking it down into all of its components. What are the concrete or abstract visible manifestations of a “bitch”?
