Explore the memory and meaning behind color through a hands-on painting experience led by artist Calvin Tsai. In this workshop, you'll experiment with layering and mixing colors to create your own expressive tote bag—guided by Calvin’s philosophy that “colors have their own memories.” Drawing from his art series Colour’s Memories, Calvin invites participants to reflect on how colors reveal what's beneath the surface—transforming painting into storytelling. All materials will be provided. No prior art experience needed—just curiosity and a love for color. About the Artist: Calvin Tsai is a Taiwanese American artist based in New York. His practice spans painting, installation, and material experimentation. He holds a BA in Communications Design from Shih Chien University and an MA in Fine Art from The Cass, London Metropolitan University. His ongoing series Color as Masks explores memory and transformation through layered compositions and peelable “color sheets.”
