Free monthly meet-up for DMV visual artists and creatives looking to expand their practice and receive thoughtful feedback. Coordinated by Addie Moore @addiethenomad and Beth Ferraro @the.art.island. Sponsored by DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and Gallery Y. Crit, short for critique, is a form of feedback standard in art school but is rarely practiced outside the classroom walls or beyond paywalls. We offer a safe, free space for creatives to talk about their work in a low-stakes, constructive environment. This gathering is intended for visual artists, but any creative is more than welcome to come and share. I (Addie) will have my iPad if you want to email me (addiethenomad@gmail.com) beforehand some images to share, or bring work in person (but this is so not required). This is mostly a practice of sharing and discussing our work in a constructive, supportive community. Here's a video on how to critique!
